Roll up, roll up! A horror show descends on Kortrijk for 72 hours. Your local theatre is transformed into a surreal haunted house. Hop into a little cart and ride to the afterlife and back.

Has a vampire ever turned you into a wage slave? What did you think? Do you find ghosts and the paranormal fascinating too? Or do you enjoy a good scare from an extremist on TV? Then Het Spookhuis (The Haunted House) is for you. A party full of eerie convulsions, a whole weekend long, in your favourite theatre.

Fear is increasingly becoming a political weapon. An easy way into everyone’s brain. The political left warns of climate catastrophes and Trumpism, the right of mass migration and woke. Each side builds its own doom scenarios. But what does that fear do to us?

During the ride through this haunted house, visitors sink ever deeper into a rabbit hole of nightmares and what-if scenarios. Inspired among other things by Édouard Louis’s book Qui a tué mon père, in which political decisions have a devastating impact on a man’s life, these theatre makers build your personal nightmare. The audience is immersed in a world where every safety net, every certainty and every protection falls away. And deep down in the valley below, in the depths of Het Spookhuis, hope and comfort grow.
